Elise Wales


Elise is a Registered Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and her post-graduate training in Professional Psychology at the University of Wollongong.


She approaches her clinical work in a genuine and non-judgemental manner and is committed to helping each of her clients achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing. Elise has extensive experience working with adolescent populations and families in residential and community settings. She has a special interest and experience in working with complex trauma and young people within the child protection and out of home care sector.


She has experience in providing strengths-based family therapy to strengthen family relationships, improve communication and address challenging behaviours within the home. 


Presentations Elise has worked with include, but are not limited to, anxiety disorders, depression, complex trauma, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attachment difficulties, self-harm, mood and behavioural difficulties, alcohol and drug use, and relationship concerns. She has experience in working in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and functional family therapy (FFT).
